5 Tips on How To Stay Up to Date on PPC Trends

In the ever-evolving world of digital marketing, staying ahead of the game can be challenging. Luckily, there is a wealth of information right at your fingertips if you know where to look. Read on for my five tips on how to stay up to date on the latest PPC trends.

1. Utilize Industry News Sites

Websites like searchengineland.com and searchenginejournal.com have dedicated PPC pages that offer a blend of news, in-depth articles, case studies, expert insights, and more. Even the big names themselves have blogs with great information – check out the Google Ads blog and the Microsoft Ads blog. This ongoing exposure to all things PPC will ensure that you remain on top of your game.

2. Follow Industry Leaders on Social Media

We’re all on our phones all the time anyway, right? Why not utilize social media to further PPC education? Following industry leaders could be an easy way to find out about PPC news you wouldn’t have otherwise heard about. Finding PPC leaders to follow is as easy as Googling “Top PPC Industry Leaders” and following the people you find intriguing. X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and Threads are great platforms to start with.

3. Participate in Online Communities

You can gain incredible insights in online forums and chats. The Paid Search Association (the only association for paid search professionals and JumpFly is a sponsor) also has a Slack channel, and membership is free. PPC Chat has a community on Slack, the hashtag #ppcchat is active on Twitter, and there is a blog on their site. The subreddit /PPC on Reddit is also a great place to find posts about all things PPC. Engaging in these online communities allows you to gain real-world insights, ask questions, and receive feedback from peers. Find PPC communities on your favorite online forums, and I guarantee you’ll pick up some useful information.

4. Subscribe to PPC Newsletters

Get a regular stream of invaluable information sent directly to your email by subscribing to PPC newsletters. This way, you can learn from leading professionals without having to search for the information. Some of my favorite newsletters include Paid Search Association and WordStream. There are plenty more out there to choose from, so find the newsletters that resonate with you, and go from there.

5. Continuous Learning & Certification

Staying current with the latest industry trends might mean “going back to school.” By participating in online courses and certifications, you will deepen your understanding of key concepts and strategies in the PPC space and learn about new developments within the space. This will show to your clients, and also to your employer, that you are committed to staying on top of the most recent advancements in PPC.
