Driving Growth of Paid Search with Revenue-Driven Results
THE CHALLENGE

Our HVAC service lead generation client wanted to assess the value of the paid search channel in order to make informed investment decisions regarding their channel marketing mix. To support this, we needed to demonstrate the profitability of the conversions we were generating in order to justify increased monthly investment.

THE APPROACH

Historically, our campaigns were optimized to generate form fill and phone call conversions. We collaborated with the client to assign a value to each form and call, which enabled us to shift our bidding strategy from simply driving conversions to focusing on revenue generation within their ROAS target. By demonstrating revenue at a profitable ROAS, we were able to strategically recommend increased investment levels.

Weather fluctuations significantly influence the volume in this account. Using ROAS-based bid strategies provided flexibility to adjust campaign-level ROAS targets in response to weather-driven shifts in demand, enabling the account to either capture increased volume or stimulate demand during slower periods.

THE RESULTS
  • Maintained client’s 9+ ROAS goal from 2022 – present, while delivering consecutive revenue growth
  • Experienced a broad uplift across all conversion sources as reach was strategically expanded

The main driver of revenue driven success was pivoting the bid strategies to optimize for revenue while achieving the client's ROAS goals. In addition, to support the growth of the paid search channel, a variety of campaign types were launched.

In Q2 of 2022, Performance Max campaigns for HVAC services were rolled out across all three markets. Then in Q3 2024, we expanded our efforts by introducing Search campaigns for their Plumbing services.
